EMS (Emergency Management Software)

Keeping track of alarm and emergency incidents can be important. Knowing when emergencies happen and understanding how well your staff responds to patient calls can be critical. Whether the information is used to improve staffing levels at certain times, validate service levels worth boasting about in your marketing campaigns, or identifying areas in need of improvement, it’s easy enough to retrieve the data with the EMS system. Emergency Management Software has other benefits, too. The easy-to-understand Graphical User Interface (GUI) can be used to quickly assign paging groups to rooms or units, including patient-specific information in the NurseCall system and more.

Voice Response

When voice communication is desired in an emergency call system, this state-of-the-art Voice Response system is the answer. It provides automatic, two-way communication between the person in need of assistance and the responder, whether it is a caregiver in a senior housing community, a relative or friend of an elderly person living alone, or the SafetyCare Response Center.
The system consists of an attractive, compact base unit (either the Caveo 872 or Caveo AS) that interfaces with any phone line. It operates independently of the telephone so residents can keep their own personal telephones. Each resident wears a totally waterproof, ultra lightweight wireless wrist or pendant transmitter. When an emergency occurs, the resident in need simply presses the button on the wireless transmitter, and the Voice Response system automatically dials up to eight preprogrammed numbers. Once connected to a responder, the person experiencing the emergency can speak hands-free from anywhere in his or her living quarters to explain the nature of the emergency, and the responder can summon appropriate help.
The Voice Response system provides an in-room personal call station for residents of independent living apartments, assisted living facilities, and continuing care retirement communities. Residents wear a personal transmitter (S37 wristband or pendant model) at all times, even while sleeping or in the shower. They can summon help 24 hours a day by simply pressing the easy-to-push button on their transmitters.
When the base unit receives the alarm, it dials the Call for Help to wireless phones carried by caregivers. When a caregiver answers the call, a recorded message, a unique feature of the Voice Response system, announces the name and room number of the resident in need. Immediately, the caregiver speaks with the resident to determine the nature of the emergency and then responds appropriately. At the completion of the conversation, the caregiver resets the call through the wireless phone or presses the reset button on the room unit. There is no need to return to the nurse’s station to reset the alarm.
The SafeyCare Response Center can be used to help manage the facility. An Alarm Receiving Unit logs in each call and stores it in a computer. When SafetyCare receives an alarm, the resident’s emergency information shows on the computer monitor and is readily available to caregivers. Management can access logs of all events and print reports.
The Voice Response personal unit has battery back-up. In case of power failure, a long-life, environmentally-friendly 6V NiCad rechargeable battery keeps the unit functioning for up to 12 hours. The system automatically recharges when the power returns. In addition, the system checks the battery in the unit every 24 hours and gives warning months in advance when it needs to be changed. Other warnings include power outage and telephone line failure. If the phone is off the hook when the emergency occurs, the Voice Response unit will seize the line and still send the message to get help.
Numerous convenience options make life easier for caregivers and residents. Calls for help can ring the wireless phones of all caregivers in a facility or can be directed to the specific caregivers responsible for specific wings or floors. Tabletop, cordless, or cell phones can be used. An in-house paging system can be incorporated if desired. Residents can speed-dial two frequently called numbers. A resident can answer incoming calls by pressing the button on the personal transmitter and speak with the caller from anywhere in the room. If a resident presses the transmitter button by mistake, there is the option to cancel the alarm by pressing the button a second time. A presence transmitter can be installed to send an alarm when there has been no activity in a resident’s room or apartment.
Residents’ personal transmitters automatically supervise functionality, with the LifeCheck feature. Transmitters use long-life lithium batteries, and the ability to replace batteries on-site saves valuable time and money. Wall mount pull-cords (S35) are available for installation in bathrooms or near beds.
The Voice Response emergency call system incorporates all of the safety features desired by senior housing communities. The fact that these units are so easy to program and install saves time and money. Owners and operators recognize the advanced technology of the Voice Response system, as well as its reputation for reliability and quality. Choosing it will protect your residents and your investment for years to come.

RAC35 Universal Transmitter

The RAC35 can be used in conjunction with the Caveo872 Personal Emergency Response System to add a call for help and/or call for fire to the system. When the RAC35 transmitter is installed on a door, the opening of that door triggers the alarm. The RAC35 transmits the alarm as a call for help and is identified through programming in the software. The alarm can also be programmed to notify caregivers via pagers. To install the RAC35, allow a minimum height of 1 foot above the ground. Metallic surfaces should be avoided (otherwise use both intermediate plates). The magnet should be mounted on the moveable part (door or window) and the radio transmitter on the frame. The distance between the radio transmitter and the magnet should not exceed 1⁄2 inch when closed (check that the arrows on both covers correspond to each other). Two-sided tape should be avoided. The RAC is not waterproof. In default, the RAC is configured as a normally open contact; it can also be configured as a normally closed contact.

Lone Worker Down - Fall Detector

Persons working alone are at significantly greater risk in an accident. SafetyCare’s Lone Worker Down - Fall Detector greatly improves safety and enables help to be summoned quickly and dependably. For personal protection, people can carry this position sensor. If an accident or a critical situation occurs, they can trigger the alarm themselves, or the alarm is triggered automatically, i.e. without the person concerned taking any action. This would be the case if, after an incident, the wearer remains in a horizontal position for a predetermined period of time. Depending on the alarm system, assistance is summoned internally, or the emergency call is forwarded to the SafetyCare Response Center.

  • Maximum employee safety
  • Automatic emergency call initiation
  • Can be set to manual alarm triggering, with or without preliminary alarm
  • Exceptionally reliable
  • Splash-proof
  • Battery-level monitor
  • Simple installation
  • Excellent price/performance ratio
  • Customer-specific alarm broadcast, depending on the alarm system
